Our Process

We will personally meet with you and your committee to present an educational presentation we call “Stained Glass 101”. The program outlines the history of stained glass, the reasons for stained glass and a comprehensive description of the design and fabrication process. It also includes a brief explanation of how both handmade and machine-made glass is produced and how minerals are used for glass colors.

Ideas and concepts for your new stained glass windows are discussed and eventually evolves into a scale color rendering which is presented for approval. Generally, a contractual agreement and initial deposit begins the fabrication process. The black and white full size working drawing or cartoon is also presented, if desired for committee approval. Normally there are no changes beyond the cartoon approval. Updates are given as needed.

If you are interested in restoration or exterior protective covering of existing windows, we will visit the church or synagogue and offer ideas, advice, or suggested solutions. Perhaps a conditions report of the existing stained glass windows may be necessary to begin a restoration campaign fund.
